Galapagos Islands 2010 International Lichen Workshop

Team: Lichenologists and mycologists from all over, but especially Latin America

Right before I started my Ph.D. I was invited by my future advisors Jim Lawrey and Robert Lücking to attend this awesome workshop in Galapagos organized in collaboration with Frank Bungartz. It was a life changing experience and I couldn't be more thankful for this opportunity. This is where I started working with basidiolichens! After the workshop a group of us stayed longer to tackle onto different taxonomic groups and we got to experience a little bit of the Santa Cruz island. The iguanas are TRULY amazing (well, everything is... really)!
